Yes You CAN!!

We all have days where we feel like giving up. You feel like you failed 100 times and there is no way we can ever succeed. My friend, this is exactly the time you need to keep going. It is in this time when we separate ourselves from being a duck or an eagle. Those who have persevered through the difficult times have attained their goals. The next time you fall down and think you don't have the strength to get back up, keep trying! This is a video of Nick Vujicic. He will give you the inspiration to keep moving when your thoughts and fears get in the way.

Thank you Nick for shining your Light on the world.

Top 5 Reasons to have a mentor

Having a mentor can really be uplifting and life changing. It is one of an essential part of your career plan. A mentor does not only give guidance but also shares a special relationship which is a reward in itself.

What is a MENTOR?

A mentor is someone with more business experience than you, who supports and guides you from outside without any direct involvement or interest in the business and most importantly, serves as a trusted confidante over an extended period of time, usually free of charge. Apart from advising, they will always be there in every step you take

If anyone out there has been contemplating getting a mentor or you don’t really understand the point of a mentor, here are my 5 top reasons to have a mentor:

1. They’ve been there and done that. You can learn from your mentor’s mistakes and avoid making them yourself.

2. You can talk to someone who is an unbiased third party. They see you for you. Your mentor may notice potential in you that you might not see in yourself.

3. They have a whole different network of contacts and connections that you don’t. These connections are priceless and can help enhance your career in ways you couldn’t yourself.

4. It’s the best free service you could ever get. AND you’ll probably gain a life-long friend.

5. Your mentor may introduce you to a career path or business opportunity that you did not know existed before.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's October which means chillier weather and Halloween is just around the corner. It also means it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). BCAM is an international health event to raise awareness of the disease and to help raise funds for research into it's cause, research and most importantly cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women of all ages to be aware of their breast health for early prevention. Prevention is the key. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been effected by this dreadful disease. It has taken far too many people and we need to do something to eradicate this disease from existence. I am proud to be a part of a generation that discusses cancer and that there are many places to turn to for support, education and treatment. As women we need to become advocates for our body and our health. We need to learn to listen to our bodies and know when something is not right. This is a great month to remind your mothers, aunts, sisters and any woman you love to do a self-breast exam and if you are 40+ get a mammogram. It could save a life. I dedicate this month to the many survivors living/battling with the disease everyday and to the many sheros who have lost the fight...we continue this fight for you! This is also a great month to give back to the cause and there are so many ways, run a 5K, shop to you drop, or throw a pink party charge admission & donate proceeds to a local breast cancer organization, or donate your time which is always appreciated. Throughout the month I will post the different ideas/resources that I come across that support Breast Cancer Awareness. I hope that you don't mind. This is my way of honoring the survivors I know or those who have lost their fight.
